HeartWise Health was founded on the belief that healing is possible when people are met with honesty, safety and compassion. Our work is rooted in trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware care that honors the full complexity of the human experience.

We understand that distress does not arise in isolation. Stress, shame, trauma and grief shape how people see themselves, relate to others and move through the world. At HeartWise Health, we help individuals make sense of these experiences – not as personal failures, but as adaptive responses to life.

The practice is led by Jimmy Durbin, LCSW, LCADC, EMDR-certified therapist, whose clinical approach is informed by both professional training and lived experience. Jimmy’s work is grounded in humility, curiosity, and the belief that sustainable change comes through daily, intentional practice rather than willpower alone.

Jimmy is in long-term recovery and has spent years integrating. Twelve-Step principles, trauma-informed care, and body-based therapies into his clinical work. This integration allows HeartWise Health to serve individuals struggling with complex trauma, addiction, mood disorders, relational wounds and life transitions with depth and steadiness.

Today, HeartWise Health reflects a broader vision – one that extends beyond any single clinician. Our team is committed to walking alongside individuals, couples, families with clarity, respect and care, helping them reconnect with themselves and move toward lives rooted in meaning and wholeness.
